Theoretical probability

A bookshop have Long fine pen (FP), Medium Very fine pen (VFP), short extral long pen(ELP) and Dwarf dirty pen  (DP). Each category are in pack of 5 and the bookshop currently have 3, 12, 18 and 7 packs of each of them respectively. If the bookshop pick a pack of pen at random for physical inspections,  what's the probability that (A) is a pack of VFP  (B) is not a pack of Dwarf pen (C) is not dirty nor VFP

Comments

  1. If they respectively have 3, 12, 18 and 7, ie:
    FP = 3
    VFP = 12
    ELP = 18
    DP = 7
    Then total packs will be 40.
    a) P(VFP) = VFP/Total = 12/40 = 3/10

  2. b) P(Not DP) = 1-P(DP)
    P(DP) = DP/Total = 7/40
    Not DP = 1 - (7/40) = 33/40
